We designed 1970s-style animated versions of the film’s subjects — including Mr. Sulu himself, George Takei — and crafted visuals by hand to help tell the story of a very special Star Trek fan film that went unfinished for decades. The documentary also explores a broader story of diversity and representation, a key part of Star Trek’s enduring legacy.
