Beam Me Up, Sulu

Following an amazing response to some 1970s-style Star Trek animations we made, we were approached by New York-based filmmakers Timour Gregory and Sasha Schneider to create animated segments for their feature documentary Beam Me Up, Sulu, produced by Highway Child in association with Roddenberry Entertainment.

We designed and animated everything by hand, from painted backgrounds to Mr. Sulu himself, George Takei — aiming to evoke the feeling of Filmation’s 1970s Star Trek animated series. Our segments help to tell the story of a very special Star Trek fan film that went unfinished for decades, while also exploring Star Trek’s key messages of diversity and representation.

The film was an official selection at the 2025 Raindance Film Festival and released through Tribeca Films on February 17, 2026.

Available on all major VOD digital platforms including Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home and YouTube.
